Think about this for a second — the asset depreciation calculation engine supports over 50 depreciation methods. But that’s not even it. Sage lets you define your own depreciation schedules and methods. That’s a significant differentiator.

The platform also offers tax reporting features as well as internal and external reporting features. There’s an option to build customer reports, too. And if you need help on advanced customizations, Sage offers “Expert Services” to help.

Based on our assessment, Sage Fixed Assets is an excellent option for two types of users. One, enterprise clients with hundreds of fixed assets and complex asset management needs. Two, users already in the Sage ecosystem because it’s just easier to integrate your entire ecosystem when the vendor is the same.

If you’re a small- or medium-sized business, though, Sage Fixed Assets may be overkill. You might just end up paying for features you don’t need at all, like the 50-plus depreciation methods when you just need one.

AssetTiger offers all the essentials, such as the ability to manage asset inventory, alerts (for expiring leases, warranty expirations, etc.) and basic maintenance features.

We liked that AssetTiger offers at least some level of customization. You can customize the asset creation form and email alerts, but most forms aren’t as customizable as the asset form. The shallow customization isn’t ideal, but it’s better than no customization at all.

There’s also a mobile app your team can use. The app has a similar interface to the desktop version, but the app often lags, so the experience isn’t impressive.

The best part about AssetTiger? It offers unlimited users on all plans. If you have basic maintenance needs but a large team, this can work out well for you in terms of pricing.

AssetTiger is suitable for small or medium businesses looking for asset management capabilities with a bit of customization thrown in the mix. However, if you have an active maintenance program, you’re better off with a CMMS like Coast.

Note that the asset management platform also includes basic maintenance features. For example, it lets you create work orders, add attachments or files to those work orders and assign responsibilities.

Of course, the bulk of its features are dedicated to managing your assets. EZO helps you log downtime, scan QR codes to fetch asset info, build custom list views and dashboards for assets, and track costs.

While EZO is a decent platform, managing two different platforms is tedious. But if you don’t mind the limited maintenance capabilities, EZO asset management may make sense for you.
