About Coast

Coast is a seed stage company founded in 2018 that aims to be the operating system for the mobile workforce – the dominant worker community that consists of people that do not sit behind a desk.

Coast combines chat with lightweight workflows (employee scheduling, maintenance work order management, and more) that can be visualized as a list, kanban board, or calendar all built via a no-code platform. We offer a very easy to use product that enables the team to communicate and to get work done.

Most of our customers use Coast on a personal smartphone and the app makes it easy to maintain boundaries between each person’s work and personal life. The usage is intense and during the work week, our customers are using the product around 60 minutes a day with strong long term retention.

The Opportunity

At Coast, our Sales Development Representatives are pivotal to our company’s success. You’ll discover customer needs, emerge as a product expert, and guide prospects to utilize our all-in-one solutions for their business needs.

You’ll engage with customers through a variety of channels; phone, live chat, email, text, and guide them through their buying journey to ultimately choose Coast.

You’ll be a direct partner to our Product and Marketing team. You will gather insights from the customer on their initial interaction with the product and bring that back to the product team for improvements. You will work directly with the marketing team to identify if the right leads are coming in.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand and articulate Coast’s value proposition in order to effectively provide support to engaged qualified buyers.
  • Engage with freemium users over phone, email, text, and chat to qualify and set appointments for Account Executives
  • Maintain a consistent level of sales activity each day. You will be talking to users that have signed up for a free account, and you should be prepared to make 100+ calls a day in addition to emails and text.
  • Maintain active engagement with leads through strategic and creative follow-ups. 
  • Update and maintain CRM records (Salesforce) as well as create and update cadences in Salesloft for outreach.
  • Partner with marketing to deliver effective messaging and identify the best customer profiles.
  • Partner with product to provide customer feedback to better improve Coast.

What we’re looking for:

  • 1+ years of Sales, Customer Success, or Customer service experience with a strong track record of success.
  • Comfortable making up to 100 phone calls per day.
  • High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, commitment, and consistency.
  • Results driven & competitive nature.
  • Passion for technology and a desire to make a major impact at a high-growth startup.
  • Empathic listening skills – it’s important for our SDR’s to be a good person to prospects.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar modern CRM tool.
