Trust Icon Why Trust Coast?

At Coast, we take our software reviews seriously. Our review methodology evaluates software across seven critical categories that help differentiate the solutions from one another. Each category receives a score from one to five, with five being the highest, and a maximum possible score of 35 points.

Zoidii Ease of Use

Zoidii ease of useWe found Zoidii easy to use because of its plain, vanilla interface. The entire feature set is mainly divided into four areas:

  • Dashboard: The dashboard has four sections, including work order KPIs, preventive maintenance (PM) KPIs, asset KPIs, parts KPIs and user KPIs.
  • Maintenance: This is where you can create work orders, PMs and checklists.
  • Lists: This section allows you to manage assets, parts inventory, and customers and vendors.
  • Reports: You can find a list of 16 reports that you need to manually run whenever you want to view them.

The interface lacks a modern feel, but fortunately, it doesn’t look dated either — it’s somewhere in the middle and easy to use for beginner-level users. If you do have questions, there’s a “Setup” button at the top right where you can access video and other resources to learn how Zoidii works.

A quick “New work order” option is tucked under the submenu that opens upon clicking the “+” sign at the top-right. Clicking that button opens a brief form that lets you select the asset, add details, and set priority and due date, among a few other things.

Unfortunately, you don’t get the option to upload documents here. The option is only available once the work order is created via the “Linked Files” section in the work order page.

Zoidii Mobile Experience

The mobile experience is noticeably different from the web experience. For starters, the sections are stacked in a ribbon at the bottom of the screen and divided into three main parts: “Work Orders,” “Assets” and “Parts.”

However, we did see several problems with the app (we tested the iOS version).

Mobile

First, the app lagged. Whenever we navigated to another section, the app took a second (or even more in some cases) to make the switch. Notice the lag here when we switch from the “Assets” section to the “Work Orders” section:

Also, the mobile interface doesn’t include a dashboard or reporting features.

In short, the mobile app requires work — which most teams don’t have time for.

Zoidii Core Features & Functionality

We evaluated Zoidii’s core features and functionality based on three key areas:

Work Order Management

Zoidii work orderThe work order management section lets you view work orders as a list or in kanban view. There are plenty of options to filter work orders and a search bar to find work orders based on a keyword quickly.

We like that you can follow and unfollow work orders by just clicking on the “bookmark” icon to the right of each work order. This option is handy if you don’t want to be notified about updates on a low-priority work order or monitor a critical work order even though you’re not the assignee.

You can schedule preventive maintenance or condition-based maintenance (CBM) tasks via the “Maintenance” > “PMs” section. The process to create both is pretty streamlined and similar, except that when you choose a trigger, you need to select “Time” to set up recurring preventive maintenance and “Meter” or “Measurement” to set up CBM tasks.

AutomationsYou can also nest PMs based on frequency or complexity. Nested PMs (only available on the top-tier plan) allow technicians to perform lower-frequency tasks simultaneously while performing high-frequency tasks whenever both fall within the same time window.

Asset Management

Zoidii offers all essential asset management features but no bells and whistles.

The asset management section is similar to the work order management screen, except for a few minor differences. You can view assets as a list or in a branched view that shows parent-child relationships between assets. It also has a search bar and various filters to narrow your search.

The asset creation form is short, but Zoidii allows you to add more detail once you’ve created the asset.

AssetOnce you go to the asset card, you’ll see several sections stacked in the left sidebar. You can add location, attributes, meter reading, documents and more.

Zoidii doesn’t offer automatic downtime tracking, but you can manually log equipment downtime using the “Offline History” section in the asset card.

Reporting & Analytics

Data is available in two sections: the “Dashboard” and “Reports” sections.

Zoidii analyticsThe dashboard helps you track KPIs for specific categories (such as work orders, parts, PMs, assets and users). You can’t change much here. The visuals and charts you see at setup remain as-is and are populated as you enter and log new maintenance data.

When you head over to the “Reports” section, you see a list of 16 reports:

ReportsWe find it tedious to manually run a report each time the team wants to extract meaningful insights. Most modern CMMS systems auto-populate data into reports and let you track them in real time. Once the report is ready, it automatically downloads to your device as a PDF instead of presenting the data in the app itself.

Zoidii Adaptability & Customization

CustomizationZoidii doesn’t offer many customization options, making it difficult to tailor it to your unique needs. For example, you can’t add or remove fields in the work order form or asset cards, rename fields, or create and customize views.

The only customization options are housed in “Settings” > “System Settings,” where you can modify basics like work order labels, labor rates and failure codes. You can also enable or disable a handful of optional features based on your needs.

Zoidii Customer Support

SupportCustomer support options include phone and email. Unfortunately, Zoidii doesn’t offer support over live chat. However, Zoidii does offer several extensive self-help options, including a help center where you can ask questions, video tutorials, and an implementation and training center.

Calling the support team is the fastest way to get help, but users say the support team is responsive across all channels. Chris, a national maintenance coordinator at an American company, says the support team satisfactorily attended to their needs and requests: “The support team is excellent and very responsive to our needs and service requests. Our staff finds the system easy to use and understand.”

Zoidii Pricing

PricingThe basic plan costs $390 per user per year ($39 a month) and includes most of the essentials but leaves out a few key features, including work order kanban and QR code tagging. The best of Zoidii’s features, such as nested PMs, auto checklists and priority tech support, are only available on the middle- and top-tier plans, which cost $550 per user per year ($55 a month) and $750 per user per year ($75 a month), respectively.

Compared to other CMMS software, the pricing is on the higher end of the spectrum. The lack of customization options, built-in chat and a not-so-modern interface make Zoidii less appealing for the price than comparable CMMS platforms on the market.

Game-Changer

So far, it has been outstanding! If there is an issue, I get answers in a very timely fashion. The system is very easy to use. If your team can use social media, they can use Zoidii.
