We evaluated AssetTiger as per our software review methodology. We used it to create assets, customize forms, generate reports and more to give you an overview of what to expect. Here’s what we found.

Trust Icon Why Trust Coast?

At Coast, we take our software reviews seriously. Our review methodology evaluates software across seven critical categories that help differentiate the solutions from one another. Each category receives a score from one to five, with five being the highest, and a maximum possible score of 35 points.

AssetTiger Ease of Use

Assettiger ease of useThanks to the setup wizard, setting up AssetTiger only takes a few minutes. Right after you sign up, the wizard helps you input basic data, including sites and asset categories, so you’re ready to start using the platform by the time you land on the dashboard.

The interface design isn’t exactly modern, but it’s highly functional and easy to navigate. The features are easily discoverable using the left sidebar.

Adding new assets only takes a click or two. The “Add an Asset” shortcut button at the top takes you to the asset creation form. Alternatively, you can access this form by clicking on “Assets” > “Add an Asset” from the left sidebar.

Maintenance features are tucked away inside the “Assets” > “Maintenance” subsection. Maintenance doesn’t get its own section because AssetTiger is geared more toward asset management than maintenance.

AssetTiger Mobile Experience

Assettiger mobileThe mobile app is a reflection of the desktop interface. There’s a left sidebar for navigating between sections and a mobile-friendly layout of the right pane where forms appear.

All sections are available on the mobile app, but there’s one problem: the app lags. The transition animation freezes, and the page takes a second to load. Overall, the experience isn’t fluid.

AssetTiger Core Features & Functionality

Most features and functionalities of AssetTiger are focused on managing assets, which means there are limited maintenance features. Let’s look at the features and functionalities that AssetTiger offers in three key areas:

Asset Management & Tracking

AssetTiger offers extensive asset inventory management and tracking capabilities. Asset management starts on the dashboard, where you see a summary of active assets, their values, purchases made during the current year and a calendar of alerts you’ve set up.

Assettiger assetsYou can check assets in and out, record leases and lease returns, move them across sites and reserve them during a specific time window. This makes AssetTiger a fit for a wide range of businesses.

There’s a dedicated section for alerts where you can set up alerts for expiring leases and warranties as well as maintenance tasks.

AssetTiger has a few additional features that are turned off by default. Navigate to “Setup” > “Table Options,” and you’ll see several asset management and tracking features, such as Depreciation, Contracts/Licenses, Insurance and Funding, are disabled. Enable them based on your preference for additional capabilities.

Work Order Management

Since maintenance is a small part of AssetTiger, it doesn’t offer many work order management features. You can create work orders from the “Maintenance” subsection under “Assets.” Here, you can record a due date, current status and cost. You can also set maintenance tasks to run on a schedule.

The maintenance list view offers extensive search filters, allowing you to screen the list based on site, location, assignee, category, status and more.

MaintenanceBut that’s pretty much it. It doesn’t offer predictive maintenance features. This means you can’t integrate it with IoT devices to monitor asset conditions and proactively maintain assets to minimize overall maintenance costs.

AssetTiger also lacks any built-in communication features. If your technicians have questions, they’ll need to use other means or see you in person to get answers.

Reporting & Analytics

Assettiger custom report Expanding the “Reports” section reveals a long list of report types and several reports within each type. Most of these reports are basic. AssetTiger lets you build custom reports as well, but they essentially just let you select a combination of data points already available in the individual reports.

AssetTiger Adaptability & Customization

Customization capabilities are satisfactory. There’s an entire subsection dedicated to customizing forms accessible via the left sidebar. Navigate to “Setup” > “Customize Forms,” and you’ll see a list of customizable forms.

The asset form is highly customizable. You can move sections around and remove or add sections in the form. The other forms aren’t as customizable. You can change the sequence of sections, but you can’t edit them in any other way.

Assettiger emailsYou can also customize emails. AssetTiger sends email alerts for various events, such as check in, check out and lease return due.

AssetTiger Customer Support

SupportAssetTiger offers support over phone and email. Unfortunately, live chat is not an option, which means if you want instant help, your only option is to call their support number.

However, the support quality is good, as per reviews on G2, Capterra and other websites.

AssetTiger Pricing

PricingAssetTiger offers a free plan that places limits across the entire feature set. However, the only difference among other plans is the cap on the number of assets you can add.

The most popular plan costs $40 per month for up to 2,500 assets, which isn’t too expensive given that there are no limits on any other feature.
